Jargon Runs Both Ways. A few resources to help clear the language fog in your school.
Thank you for joining me at the ISMAC Conference in Bangkok on May 8th. It was an honor to speak at the event. ISMAC is a new conference, and from where I sat, a real success. I’m already looking forward to attending many more.
The resources below expand on what we covered together. They’re meant to be practical, the kind of thing you can share back at your school when you need to make the case for clearer thinking around brand, marketing, and communications.
The Language Calibration Workshop
PDFs of the workshop flow with moderator notes, and suggested worksheets are available below.
The workshop is designed so two things happen at once:
- Non-marketers, including school leadership, education leaders, and sometimes admissions, leave with a clearer understanding of what marketing, communications, and brand are as disciplines, and how they show up in school work.
- Marketers, including communicators, visual creatives, and sometimes admissions, leave with a clearer understanding of how their disciplines apply within the school’s culture, structure, and priorities.
Creative Brief
Download a working PDF form of the creative brief or an InDesign template.
The template uses Adobe Fonts. You will need to activate those, or replace them with your own.
This resource is meant as a starting point, not a final solution. You can use the PDF as-is, or adapt the structure to create your own version. In many cases, it may work better as a Google Form, Microsoft Form, or a tool within Finalsite, depending on your school’s workflow.
